Invitation to Change (ITC) is a holistic helping framework based in science and kindness, designed for the families and loved ones of people struggling with substance use. With a skills-oriented, compassionate outlook, the Invitation to Change Approach works to reduce shame and stigma, while providing tools to foster growth and promote change.

ITC combines the evidence-based protocols of Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Topics from the ITC Group include:

  • How to understand your loved one’s behavior

  • What makes someone decide to change?

  • What if they don’t want to change?

  • Figuring out what will work for your loved one

  • How do I talk to them about substance use?

  • Practical tools for encouraging change

  • Taking care of yourself on this journey

  • How to stay connected when things are hard

*donations cover weekly facilitation, meeting prep and follow-up, resources and handouts, and Google group. Thank you!
